Thoughts on iDubbbz Changing Content
Is this the end of the world or just a sign of maturity?
I am the most terminally online mother fucker you probably read blogs from, so it’s no surprise I’m in the know on stupid controversies that take up brain space. This controversy stuck out to me compared to everything else because it’s a sign many people won’t accept the change of others. You can call it hypocrisy, but I see it as a cop-out of attaching personal views to someone not working out.
I will start with a quote I found that gives away my opinion on this so-called controversy.
The more you get set into your own world, the smaller your world becomes — J.R. Rim
First, I have to explain 2012 YouTube. This perspective comes from a guy who grew up as an edgy teenager consuming this content.
Anti-SJW
To give you an idea of YouTube, in 2012, Alex Jones uploaded videos questioning the Sandy Hook shooting. The rules of the platform were wildly different. It’s where many problems began as ideas like this were freely allowed to run rampant and be monetized.
One large form of content was anti-SJW content. Any piece of content to criticize a protestor or person acting out of hand to de-legitimize a whole movement.
