A Path Back Into Tech
I’ve seen people leave, but have they ever considered coming back?
Is it possible to come back to such a brutal market? The constant ups and downs make it uninviting and gaslighting as fuck. Then you sit back and think to yourself.
Well, it wasn’t that bad.
I’ve found it interesting to hear about people leaving all types of jobs. Burnout is real in any space, from leaving teaching to quitting social work because of the absurd requirements for low pay. However, tech is a unique space that hasn’t been fully exploited yet.
I mean, we haven’t had to form unions out of necessity to buy groceries yet…
So, you left, perhaps against your will, and now you want to return despite all this. Is it viable to come back?
Comeback Season
The answer is unequivocally yes. Any inbred moron who wants to argue otherwise, suck a dick.
I’ve talked to many people who have worked decades in this space that survived the dot com bubble. Like voting in the states, it’s a pendulum that never finds any reasonable stopping point. Either people are desperately hiring after enforcing ridiculous standards, causing a shortage, or people are desperately looking for work, and standards are rising, causing a surplus.
